Alexander Surkoff

Alexander Surkoff was born in Barnaul, Russia. In 1996 he graduated from Repin State Academic Institute of Painting Sculpture and Achitecture. Member of The Union of Russian Artists. Although Alexander is mostly focused on graphics, his painting in his exceptional style are amazing.

"I was born and spent most of my life in St.Petersburg, Russia - the city of artists, or cultural capital of Russia as most people say.
I don’t belong to those artists who started their career in fine arts in early childhood. Although I was interested in drawing from first years of my life, I got education in finance and spent over 7 years in investment area.
In 2005 I started to learn academic drawing and painting and in 2009, when I with my family immigrated to Canada and settled in Vancouver, I decided to give up finances and devote myself to arts. The same year I opened a home-based art school for children and adults and started selling my artworks.
While I like to use advantages of every medium I prefer painting in watercolours and oils."
